A BAD PLAN AVERTED!!
Thank you MMM Athletes for making your voices heard about the potential of moving the Greyhound bus station to the train depot next to Maynards. Last night the
City Council voted unanimously to
scrap the plan. Hooray!!

FLASHLIGHTS AND BLINKY LIGHTS REQUIRED
Any old flashlight will do….or buy an official MMM head lamp (available late November) in Maynards Market for only $9.99. Pick up a blinky light (generously provided by TEP) from the box on the check-in table. Clip it to your back. Please return it to the box at the end of your walk/ run.

MMM PARKING
Parking is always free after 5:00 PM in the Madden Media lot, 345 E. Toole, just west of Maynards. You can park in the Pennington Street Garage for a $2 flat rate after 5:00 PM. Keep in mind that street parking is free after 5:00. And don’t forget the lot at O’Malley’s, where you also get 20% off your tab on Mondays.
BE A MMM VOLUNTEER!
You can’t help but notice how much fun our volunteers are having. Sign-up at the check-in table for next Monday…any Monday. You can work the early shift…5:00 to 5:45 (then walk or run) or the late shift…5:45 to 7:00.
Volunteers who complete a full shift will receive three raffle tickets. That’s a deal!!

“GIRLS ON THE RUN”
SEEKS COACHES
“Girls on the Run” is a youth development program combining an interactive curriculum with training for a 5k run, while inspiring self-respect and healthy lifestyles in 3rd-5th grade girls. Tucson Medical Center is preparing to launch their 2011 spring season of Girls on the Run of Tucson, made possible through a grant from Aetna. Female head coaches commit 7-10 hours per week, and work with an assistant coach (male or female). Are you committed to improving the lives of girls? Sessions take place the week of February 7th through mid-April. For more information, contact program coordinator Keli Perino at 324-1345.
