MMM sponsor Providence Service Corp. is a member of the Tucson Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition. Providence has requested a special MMM walk/run on September 19 in memory of Diego Gadea.

Diego was 17 years old when he took his own life, just a few months ago on June 17. His parents Manuel and Jeannie and brother Mario are MMM Athletes. We will walk/run in Diego’s memory September 19.

Diego was a Salpointe honor student, captain of the wrestling team and the best friend a person could have. But Diego suffered from depression, and even his loving family and friends could not reach beyond his pain to bring him the same joy he brought to others.

Let’s give our best MMM welcome to the Gadea family and the many families from the Salpointe community who will walk/run with us to honor Diego’s memory. Maynards will have a BBQ on the patio after the drawing. Plan to stay and share the evening with Diego’s family and friends.

MMM sponsor Tucson Medical Center’s “Girls on the Run” of Tucson has been selected as one of 35 agencies across the country to participate in the Aetna Voices of Health competition. Please support Girls on the Run of Tucson. You can vote 10 times from as many e-mail addresses as you have, and you can  forward this to anyone and everyone who has an interest in developing strong, independent, confident women for Southern Arizona. In conjunction with Second Saturdays, the University of Arizona will celebrate the opening of UA Downtown at the Roy Place Building on Saturday, Sep 10. Name the musical act that will be performing and name the exhibit related to downtown Tucson.

The first person to email (just hit “reply”) the correct answer will receive a $5 Delectables gift certificate at MMM on Monday. You must be present on Monday to receive your prize. Otherwise, it goes into the regular drawing. You may win the trivia contest once every three months.
