THIS MESSAGE COMES TO US FROM KAREN ROBISON
Joey Viola, Maynards Walk Member and Wednesday Night Screening Room Comedian, recently broke his hip on a Monday night walk when one of the wheels of his wheel chair got twisted in train track crossing on 4th Ave.
Joey is a very vibrant senior, who always has a smile on his face, who lives on the far east side in an active senior community apartment. Maynards Monday night walks are one of the highlights of his weekly life.
He is doing well and will be returning to the walks as soon as he is able. He still has several weeks of rehabilitation, but would love to have visitors at Villa Campana 8am – 9pm. Located right behind St. Joseph’s Hospital off of Wilmot and Carondelet. Address 6651 Carondelet, Room 203A. Bedside phone number is 731-8580.
Karen Robison will be taking a collection for a planter for Joey at next Monday’s Walk as well as bringing a large poster board card for all of us to sign to put on wall of Joey’s room.
Although, his recovery is going well it is slow and he has no family here so is often lonely at the rehabilitation center. It would be great if as many of us that can, can come to visit him in rehab to boost his spirits and help him do wheel chair exercises as he visits with us. Families are welcome.
